It started with one, then it spread...
The disease was know as HL793. It attacked the brain tissue, eating away at it until nothing was left. It was a silent killer, not notifying the victim until it was too late. And boy did it work fast. Little was known about the disease, much less a cure for it. Sadly, along in that unknown information, was the fact that this was an extremely contagious disease.
HL793 soon became a world-wide problem...
The disease was spread to all parts of the world by travelers who didn't even know they carried the disease. Soon, all of the world was exposed to HL793, and they were powerless to stop it.
But there was a catch, a good one, on our part...
The disease could not affect animals. No matter how close the humans got to them, nothing happened. This ruled out testing cures on animals, which became a problem. But it was good news for us.
Before the human race was wiped out, they made their last good decision...
The humans sent a few select bears, and some of their prey, to a recently discovered planet. The planet contained all features of Earth. But the size was extremely small. In fact, the planet held only one, huge land mass. It contained a variety of different terrains that could suit the bears and their prey. The humans named the planet Kaliska.
The humans were gone soon after...
Humans were wiped from Earth's surface. The planet was abandoned to the natural world. As for the bears, well, they were living well on the Kaliska. They began to assume to their natural behavior. Raising young, hunting, marking territory. And their prey grew with them. Soon, Kaliska became a mirror of the past Earth. But this one was ruled by the bears.
Welcome to Kaliska...
